If you really want or need to update pip, you need to do some steps on the command line. OctoPrint will just happily continue to use the current pip version if it is not completely outdated, but it won't stop pip from printing out this message. This is nothing to get alarmed about and most importantly it is not an error in any way. You should consider upgrading via the 'pip install -upgrade pip' command. Open the Window CMD Launch the Windows CMD: Press Windows Key + X. Next, you can upgrade the packages in your requirements file by running the install command with the -upgrade switch or the -U shorthand: Windows Linux +. Save the file in a folder that you can remember because you need to run the file from CMD. Next, open Command Prompt > enter print (Hello. pip likes to tell users if there's a new version of itself via a message looking like this: You are using pip version 8.1.1, however version 9.0.1 is available. Install PIP on Windows Download PIP get-pip.py To install the PIP, you need the PIP file. Install: Open installer > select Add Python 3.7 to PATH > Install Now > wait for confirmation. It is not a part of OctoPrint, but OctoPrint uses it for managing plugins and also updating itself.
